Shirley Ann, I am glad you have found an anchor once again at home though your full-time mothering and homeschool days have ended. As you are discovering being a full time "Keeper of the Home" is still very much a desired and necessary...and fulfilling I might add...place to be as a woman even in the 21st century. I found your blog several years ago through homeschooling. I am older than you, I just had a child later in life...there is a 20+ years from my oldest child to my youngest.😊 ( that means I began homeschooling in 1988 until 2021...all those years except two of them homeschooling my four children). To my point I want to say I appreciate the mellowness of aging and though I never get bored because I find the joy, delight and glory in homekeeping as much as I ever did. I fully recognize I have definite choices, every day. And I, like you, find the wonder of watching wildlife, nature studying so to speak, continues no matter my age. Keep writing dear Shirley Ann and encouraging all homemakers.😊😊

Shirley,
Wonderful changes, but changes nonetheless. Life is full of them, some mournful, some challenging, and some with great expectation and anticipation of the hope and goodness just around the corner and beyond.
We do not have badgers here in Southern USA, but we do have owls and...raccoons. I need to share my raccoon story on a post😊. I look forward to hearing about the publishing of your book.
I linked your site today. Blessings!

Shirley, I knew I had to comment something here. This resonates with my entire being, and I say ,"Exactly",
"I totally agree", "She is speaking what I believe too." I have never had much to do on social media, but YouTube did its "draws ins" with automatic feeds during covid. Until I began to see such silly patterns of what those making the videos so desperately wanted, but instead chose spurious means(realizing it is sometimes all monetary). I hope to link this post in my blog if you do not mind, because you did say it so well. Blessings!
Oh, the music is a nice addition. The piano pieces are some of the ones my daughter played when she was a homeschooled student at home. How I miss those days...

I have to be honest, I have resorted to buying in a sourdough starter which is working really well. I think the problem may have been the flour I was using. I'm going to buy some organic rye and try again from scratch - simply because I do not want to be defeated :D

Hi Shirley, lovely to read about your home rhythms. I've been trying to learn sourdough too, but I was given some starter - it does seem quite temperamental though!
